Like natural hair, human hair wigs require regular care and attention in order to preserve their shine and texture. By following these simple steps, you’ll keep your wig in terrific shape for years to come.
Pre-Wash Preparation: Gently comb or brush hair free of all tangles or teasing. Avoid contact with the cap to keep from damaging it.
Shampooing: Rinse the wig in warm water, not hot water as that can result in the cap stretching out of shape or cause hair to separate from it. Apply normal shampoo concentrating on the forehead area. Rub gently as with any delicate fabric. Rinse shampoo with warm water in the direction of the hair’s roots to ends.
Drying: After rinsing, remove excess water by patting in a towel. You can lay the wig flat or place on a wig stand which will allow the inside and outside of the wig to dry evenly. Do not brush or comb the wig while it is wet as this may expand the hair shafts and loosen them.
Styling: Once dry, it can be styled using rollers, a blow dryer, curling iron, flat iron and any styling products that you prefer.
